Probably the bleakest dystopian I've ever read, this books universe is very fucked up. I thoroughly enjoyed it, I think the themes of this book hit the mark very well & it's a frightening cautionary tale about the dangers of totalitarianism, superficial happiness, & the loss of individuality.
One of the few things I disliked, or at least found confusing, were the character Bernard's motives throughout the book. At first he seemed critical of the society he had grown up in & knew he wanted to live differently, but when he introduced John to all of his colleagues in London he was suddenly receptive to the society he was in & it's horrible nature because of his newfound popularity. Perhaps when he was unpopular/looked down upon, he was in a unique position to see the "civilized" society for what it was & his popularity was only artificial.
The authors descriptive language & worldbuilding was amazingly done, each scene felt very vivid. Brave New World made good use of symbolism & imagery, it was very easy to visualize the world & its inhabitants. The world & plot itself was very gripping & kept me hooked all the way through.
