I love the way this movie looked & was shot. Using montage-style cuts to introduce characters & good costume design made the movie very visually appealing. A good use of color was seen in all the shots, & the movie turned to grayscale at times to signify the time period. Lot of creative liberties were used to enhance the storytelling.
Plot follows two daughters who've been mistreated their whole lives due to their burn scars. Their long lost mother reaches out & sets them off on a cross-country quest to get revenge on their Dad who set them & their mother on fire years ago. The characters are compelling enough, one sister is much more reckless & eager to kill their dad, while the other is "emotional" & a lot more timid. Their dynamic & relationship is tested through the conflict & its tragic seeing the more reckless sister (Racine) slowly lose herself in pursuit of revenge as her twin must pick up the pieces.
The ending was good & it delivered well on the theme of revenge & how it can consume you.
