I loved nearly everything about this movie. Most notably, I think it had great atmosphere. The scenes were wonderfully shot, amazing use of lighting & color, & the SOUND was great & contributed so much to the scares of the movie. I was very immersed throughout the whole movie. Amazing use of makeup, costume design, special effects, as well as things like symbolism & foreshadowing. The plot was compelling as well. The movie did a good job of suddenly switching the pace on you, one moment you think everything is going well, & suddenly everything is tense. Characters were acted amazingly, I felt for each of the characters in one way or the other.
Obsession explored themes of possessiveness & male loneliness very interestingly. It has an obvious "villain" in Nikki but Bear prolongs the inevitable & strings actual Nikki along, turning into someone she's not & taking away all autonomy. You can tell Bear means well initially, but only ends up making things worse for the girl he loves & even all of their friends.
